Lady Etiquette

Image
What defines a lady?  I desire to share my thoughts in regards to the notion as I am assured that there are diverse optics going around this subject. A lady is more than an elegant appearance, more than a chic outfit, more than refined charisma. It's a fuse of all former mentioned. Per definition, elegance is the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner. R efinement is cultured elegance in behavior or manner, sophisticated and superior-good taste. E tiquette is the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group. I believe those three values are imperative to contour a lady's profile and below there are some  recommendations on how to gain them: 1) Define and outline your values by knowing what you believe and why, still be opened to evaluate it when it's essential. 2) Respect yourself by cultivating a high standard of grace and elegance for yourself, be selective with whom you invest yo...

Stripped

Image
It takes audacity to remove all coverings,  still, I trust that the only way to stay loyal to your own authentic self is to expose it.  To reveal it, stripped of all influences, masks, roles, "facades" or "shields" that repress it. Not long ago, I used to keep my soul into the obscure and shades while seeking acceptance, as I craved to belong somewhere. I wanted to fit in, but I was deceived by my own fears. To play a role only to fit in somewhere will not supply the feeling of belonging, of association. Why? Because you really do not belong in that place, you simulate the values, beliefs, etc. to be endorsed. The fear of what others might think, or how they would perceive me, felt like a mental prison. It censored my own beliefs and kept me away from doing the things I really felt like doing.  Live your standards and share your principles. Express your true self, your inner values, your deepest beliefs, bring out your creative side and the rest will calibrate.  You...

Confessions

Image
I wanted to write this post for some time now, and as Easter is celebrated tomorrow, I found the right timing to share my beliefs and how I got to believe what I believe.  When I was around 18 years old, I asked my own existential questions, interested to know if were we created by a bigger force or we were the result of an unplanned evolution, so I did my own research and thinking. I thought to myself that flowers don't have a mind of their own and also do not acknowledge or decide for themselves, still, they developed methods for self-protection such as thorns at roses or they have methods to attract insects for pollination as perfume or strong colors.  Evolution, DNA? Very well, I thought it’s all in the DNA. Now, what if DNA works as software, or more to that, what if DNA really is a “software” that a bigger force placed in everything in order for things to work and develop according to a master blueprint? Now, something I learned from physics is that planets follow well-d...

Visiting the snake pit? Here's how to tame the cobras

Image
Unfortunately, you end up in a position where you must interact with people you do not find pleasure in. People who constantly attack you or offend you, throwing insults regarding your life choices, your decisions, your looks, etc. They can be colleagues, "friends" and even "family". Here are some tips on how to approach these uncomfortable situations and make the cobras dance to the song you play for them: 1) No matter what they say to you in an offensive way, do not show anger as this will portray you as weak and lacking self-confidence 2) Use humor, even if fake. Laugh and then use whatever they throw at you, agree, and amplify it. For instance: "You're too thin! Eat more!" "True, I've been struggling to gain more weight but seems that my body prefers Victoria's secret look." When asked personal questions such as: "You're getting old! When will you have a baby?"   "As soon as I figure out how. I will keep you pos...

Scrambled eggs for breakfast | Expectations vs. Standards

Image
Let's go in with a bit of a definition.  A standard is a level of quality, a norm, while an expectation is a belief.  To make it easier to understand, let's exemplify. My standard for breakfast is for this to include scrambled eggs and my expectation is to find scrambled eggs on each restaurant's morning menu. Now, my standards will not always be met, also my expectations. I set my standards and it's up to me to have them met, so if a restaurant will not serve scrambled eggs for breakfast I will look and find one which does. But when it comes to expectations it's important to know how to set them correctly. For instance, it would be wrong of me to expect that a vegan restaurant will serve scrambled eggs on their menu so that is why I need to have this expectation only towards the appropriate types of restaurants. The same approach applies to people, or in relationships. For instance, one of my standards is to receive loyalty, so I will not expect this from people wh...

I read somewhere that   Good Hair Day  is in two days from now, on 26 th   March, but why not have a good hair day every day? Ok, here are some tips on how to: Know your Hair! Is it dry, oily, etc.? You need to know your hair type so you will be able to use suitable products (such as shampoo, conditioner, etc) for it. Hair Health & Wellness! Use nourishing hair masks, oils, serums and keep a healthy diet as it influences your hair growth and quality. Trim, trim, trim! Get rid of split ends regularly (6-8 weeks). Use heatless ways to dry or style your hair. Be gentle when brushing or combing your hair to avoid breaking it. Be careful with coloring and lightening products, to avoid hair damage. Something's "cooking"!

2021. First post for Alpha Tuxedo.  I must admit it's been a while since I wrote something, winter vacation, medical leave, and the need to fully recharge my creativity's batteries were behind this writing break. Now, I am back, with the desire to write more about the small, little things that count and that make life an interesting and beautiful journey.  I want to walk slow when everybody is running, to be present, live in the moment, and capture all this in my blog posts. I have few creative art projects in my mind that I would like to bring to life in the following months. My intention is to touch on some of my greatest passions: fashion and music.  Still... no spoilers! :)
