Horror Love Story

With  Halloween in just two days, I wanted to say that I was never a horror movie genre fan as I hate to get scared or feel frightened. 

But I remember that there was a time when each Friday night, ProTv was streaming after the X-Files, a horror movie.

So… I remember watching Poltergeist when I was a kid, I believe I was around 7-8 years old… and I watched it from the top of the living room table, holding both of my hands, each one on one of my eyes, staring at the screen between my fingers… I was afraid for the next two weeks after that, that the TV might suck me into it. I hardly wanted to watch any TV. :)))

I don’t even want to mention The Ring… I stopped watching it in the first 50 minutes…

Still, there is one horror movie that I love, it’s Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula (1992). Besides that, it has Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, and Anthony Hopkins in distribution, and their acting is mindblowing, the movie it is a mix of romance as the plot builds around Dracula’s obsession with Mina and a horror overdose due to his curse as he turned against God.

Spoiler alert: Vlad was in a battle, his lady received the false news that he died during the fight and ravaged by the news, she decided to commit suicide. He returned, found her dead, and tormented by the pain of his loss, and in agony, he rebelled against God and become a demonic blood-sucking vampire.

Around over 400 years later he encounters a girl who looks exactly like his long lost love and he tries to win her over.

I guess it's the eternal love and obsession that he has for her that makes this movie worth watching or re-watching, at least for me. I like that in a man :))) 

Also, it’s Garry Oldman in the role of Dracula and Winona Ryder as Mina onscreen connection that is sublime.

#lazy

It’s just one of these days when all I want to do is to be LAZY… Lazy in bed, lazy on the sofa, actually… I want to be lazy anywhere I can be lazy, as long it is cozy & comfy.
